About Horse & Ranch Life
Real advice from someone who actually lives it — boots on the ground in eastern Oklahoma.
Hey, I’m glad you found this place. If you’re a horse owner in Oklahoma — or anywhere in ranch country — you’ve probably noticed that most of the advice online is written by people who’ve never had to fix a fence at 6am or figure out what to do when a stray horse shows up in your pasture.
I’ve been keeping horses in eastern Oklahoma for over 20 years. In that time I’ve dealt with just about everything — escaped horses, veterinary emergencies, fencing repairs, feed shortages, and all the day-to-day joys and headaches that come with owning a mixed herd. Horse & Ranch Life is where I put everything I’ve learned into writing, so you don’t have to figure it all out the hard way.

What You’ll Find Here
This isn’t a fancy equestrian blog. It’s a practical, no-nonsense resource for everyday horse owners — people who keep horses because they love them, not because they’re chasing trophies. You’ll find:
- Horse health guides — written in plain English, not vet-speak
- Feeding and nutrition tips — what works in Oklahoma’s climate and pasture conditions
- Ranch and fencing advice — practical solutions that won’t break the bank
- Oklahoma horse laws and regulations — because knowing the rules can save you a serious headache
- Gear and product recommendations — only things I’d actually use myself
My Philosophy
Horses aren’t a hobby for me — they’re a way of life. After more than two decades of caring for a mixed herd, I’ve learned that the best horse owners are the ones who keep learning. I’m not a veterinarian or a lawyer, and I’ll always tell you when you need to call one. But there’s a lot of everyday knowledge that doesn’t require a professional — it just requires experience.
A Note on Product Links
Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you purchase through them — at no extra cost to you. I only recommend products I’d genuinely use or have used myself. The affiliate income helps keep this site running so I can keep writing.
Got a Question?
If there’s a topic you want me to cover, a situation you’re dealing with, or something I got wrong, drop a comment on any post. I read everything and do my best to respond. This site is most useful when it’s a conversation — so don’t be shy.
